It seems like I'm always praying for something or someone, be it big or small. I am so thankful for my life and all that I have. It's funny how things happen and turn out. For a long time, I prayed for a baby and God answered my prayers. We obviously didn't go down the traditional path of having a baby, but I know God had his reasons for the path he chose for us. And look how that path turned out....she's 17 months old today, the love of our lives, and our sunshine. I always pray for my family, my friends, and my students. I care deeply about the people in my life. I've been praying about something since last spring that an answer came this week with more answers to follow. I'm not sure what God's plan is for me yet, but I know he will lead me down the correct path, in his time, and under his direction.
The whole time we were going through the process of trying to get pregnant, a specific verse from the bible kept popping up. At our church, the pastor was having us memorize a verse each week. During one of the low points of our fertility struggle, the verse we memorized was Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for your said the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not harm you. Plans to give you a hope and a future. I sat in my seat and cried quietly. I needed that verse at that very moment because I had been questioning what God's plans were for me and Adam. I said that verse over and over during Adam's procedure. I kept it in my heart those long months while we waited for success. Much to my surprise when we came off of the elevator when leaving the hospital to take Addison Leigh home with us, it was on the wall of the hospital. I bought a baby's first year calendar to track her milestones and on a piece of cardboard in the back of the calendar, there was my verse. On the first day of school this year, there was a note in my mailbox with my verse.
So, to sum up my rambling.....God is everywhere, even when I doubted him and questioned him. He has a plan for me. I'm so thankful for my sweet baby girl, I love you Addison Leigh. Happy 17th months love bug!
P.S.
Is it wrong to put in a tiny prayer request for a snow day tomorrow?

2011 Recap
Hopefully, if I can blog it, Addison Leigh will have it to read later! Because let's face it, my mind is not what it used to be. Old age, pregnancy, and teaching 6th grade have compromised my few brain cells that I had left.
January- We recovered from Christmas and I had to go back to school. We enjoyed some more snow days and I was so thankful for the extra time off with Addison. Addison turned 5 months old.
February- Daddy had his 30th birthday and Addison celebrated her 1st Valentine's Day! She got pink cowgirl boots and her very own Valentine basket with her name on it. We went to Cincinnati for the week-end to celebrate. We spent the night at the Hilton Netherland Plaza and enjoyed exploring the historical old building. We tried to get in at Montgomery Inn to eat, but it was so packed that we enjoyed $20.00 cheeseburgers from room service! The next morning we took Addison to the Newport Aquarium and she LOVED seeing all of the fish. My sweet baby girl turned 6 months old and started sitting up! We added a new member to our family, Taylor, who was a blessing. Taylor loves Addison just like she is her own. It made going to work everyday easier for me.
March- We watched lots of basketall and went to Granna and Peeps in Flatwoods for a visit. We visited Central Park for pictures in the daffodils and Addison loved picking them and eating them.(which was illegal! Yikes!) Addison experienced her 1st final four as the CATS made it, but lost. :(
We were looking forward to warm weather. Hard to believe that Addison turned 7 months old.
April- It was a very busy month for us! I was able to enjoy Spring Break with Addison. We didn't travel anywhere, but had lots of fun around the house. We took walks in the wagon with Lexie and Sailor and sat in the grass in our backyard. Addison had her first Easter! We went to church At this point, we were counting down the days until summer break! We also got to go to New York for the first time. We were there for a week-end and I'm still amazed at all of the things we were able to see and do with an 8 month old in tow.
May- Addison and I celebrated my first Mother's day, what an amazing day for me. I thought I'd never be a mom and look how blessed I am. School started to wind down and it began to warm up. Addison turned 9 months old. She was crawling and cruising everywhere.
June- The last day of school FINALLY came and not long after that we headed to Miami to visit Tio T and let Toodles put her toes in the sand. She turned 10 months while we were there and was quite the bathing beauty. She loved the pool and the ocean. We spent the rest of the month playing, going to the pool, and relaxing.
July- Addison experienced her first 4th of July. Just think, a year ago I was extremely pregnant and in the hospital with kidney stones. What a difference a year makes! We went to a neighborhood party and Addison slept through the fireworks. My sweet girl turned 11 months old. We also celebrated Peeps 60th birthday.
August- Addison had her first trip to the drive-in to see the SMURFS. She had fun, but fell asleep halfway through the movie. I had to go back to school. :( I hate leaving her. We celebrated her 1st birthday and had a major party! We went to see the LION KING with some friends and she did pretty well. I can't believe my baby is 1.Adam and I celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary...so hard to believe. We took baby girl to Rupp Arena for the 1st time where she enjoyed the Pros vs. Dominican Republic game. We sat two rows off of the floor. She looked so cute in her UK cheerleading uniform and kudos to the 2 nice gentleman in front of us he retrived her pacifier, hairbow, and shoes multiple times.
September- We got back into a routine since I was back in school. We enjoyed some time at Spindletop for a fall festival and Boyd's Orchards to pick out our pumpkins. Addison also had her first pony ride at her friend Justus' birthday party. She loved it!
October- We were so busy! I was on fall break! We went to Gatlinburg with granna and peeps the first part of the week and the second part of the week we went to DISNEY WORLD! I forgot to mention how much Addison Leigh loves Mickey Mouse. We had so much fun and we are still talking about our trip. Mickey Mouse waffles, the rides, the characters, the fireworks.....we can't wait to go back. Addison really loved her Mickey balloon and went right to Minnie and gave Mickey a kiss on the nose. (I've got the pictures to prove it!) Daddy got a new job at Alltech!
November- We got ready for Thanksgiving and started the Christmas countdown. Santa came to our house for pictures, they turned out great! Hoping to make this an annual tradition. We also visited the Festival of Trees at the Paramount in Ashland. Addison loved the Cinderella tree.
December- We spent the month decorating and participating in various holiday activities. The parade, the Alltech music concert, story hour at Joseph Beth. I really enjoyed the time off with Addison. She had so much fun opening her gifts. We rang in the New Year with family and friends. We celebrated Sailor and Lexie and mommy's birthdays. Daddy surpised mommy with a dinner complete with friends at Hacienda.
We have been so blessed the last year and are praying for another blessed year for our family in 2012!
